RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – With the first season as head women's golf coach under his belt that resulted in placing an individual in the Central Region Tournament,
Joey Baldwin has announced the addition of four golfers that will join the program next season as transfers.
The quartet of transfers include
Isabel Chaidez (Little Rock, Ark. – Maryville Univ.),
Maisie Hassall (Haywards Heath, England – Tennessee Wesleyan Univ.),
Averi Mickelson (Kansas City, Mo. – Bowling Green State Univ.) and
Claire Orcutt (Mankato, Minn. – Creighton Univ.).
Those four join Baldwin's initial Tech women's golf signing class that already secured a pair of golfers from the prep ranks in
Jaylee Castro (Kansas City, Mo.) and
Lois Deeter (Topeka, Kan.).
"We couldn't be more excited to welcome Isabel, Averi, Claire and Maisie to our Golden Suns Family," remarked Baldwin. "All four student-athletes will have an immediate impact on our program. They are all competitive, hard-working and have the drive to help take our program to a very high-level. I am excited to see what the future holds for each of them!"

ISABEL CHAIDEZ
Little Rock, Ark. | Maryville University
A native of Little Rock, Chaidez returns to the Natural State after spending her freshman season at Maryville University (St. Louis, Mo.). Just recently, Chaidez capped her rookie campaign with an individual selection to compete in the East Regional Championship Tournament.
In that regional, Chaidez finished in tie for 25th place after shooting 13-over for the tournament. In all three rounds, Chaidez shot in the 70s and had her best round in round two with a one-over (73).
Prior to her time at Maryville, Chaidez prepped at Mount St. Mary Academy in Little Rock where she was all-conference four years and all-state three years. |
MAISIE HASSALL
Haywards Heath, England | Tennessee Wesleyan University
Hassall transfers into Tech after one season at NAIA Tennessee Wesleyan University (Athens, Tenn.). In her first season of collegiate golf, Hassall was recently named First Team All-Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) as well as to the league's All-Freshman Team.
Hassall also recorded several top-10 individual finishes as was an individual medalist while maintaining a 78.14 scoring average. |

AVERI MICKELSON
Kansas City, Mo. | Bowling Green State University
Mickelson makes her way to Tech by way of Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, Ohio) where she recently concluded her first year of collegiate golf. In her first season, Mickelson played in six tournaments and totaled 16 rounds. She would post a scoring average of 79.25 and had a low score of 73 during the year.
An accomplished prep golfer, Mickelson played at Liberty North High School in Kansas City, Mo. where she was a four-time all-conference player and a three-time conference champion. Mickelson also qualified for the state tournament all four years and was a three-time Missouri All-State selection. |
CLAIRE ORCUTT
Mankato, Minn. | Creighton University
Orcutt is the most experienced collegiate golfer transferring to the program as she makes her way to Tech from Creighton University (Omaha, Neb.) where she spent the past four seasons. In her time at Creighton, Orcutt played in 15 events and had a career scoring average of 82.55.
