RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas Tech senior golfer
Ellen Spigner has been named as the Great American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office on Wednesday.
It is the second GAC weekly award this season and the fourth career for Spigner.
Spigner earned this week's GAC Women's Golfer of the Week as she won her second tournament in as many tries with a win at the Tulsa Cup earlier this week.
After Monday where she played 36 holes, Signer led the field of 100 golfers with a four-under (140). In her first round, Spigner shot one-under (71) and followed with a three-under (69). On Tuesday, with the whole field battling rainy conditions, Spigner shot three-over (75).
Spigner has now won three tournaments in her career, tying her for the fourth-most in Golden Suns golf history.
