PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The Arkansas Tech women's golf team concluded their 2025-26 season with the final round of stroke play at the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament on Thursday. The Golden Suns would finish tied for 12
th place and fell just short of advancing to medal match play.

On Tuesday, the Golden Suns opened their time at the championship, but were only able to complete a handful of holes before persistent inclement weather ultimately postponed the first round, forcing it to continue prior to the start of the second round on Wednesday.
By the end of the completed first round on Wednesday, Arkansas Tech had a team score of 30-overand were tied for 17
th. They improved that standing later in the day and dropped nine strokes from their round one score for a second round score of 21-over. That elevated the Golden Suns up to 15
th place.
On Thursday, the Golden Suns were the last group out on the course for the final round of stroke play. As the round progressed, Tech was fighting their way into contention to break into the top-eight to qualify for medal match play.
They would end their round dropping two more strokes from their second round score and finished 19-over, giving them aa 54-hole team score of 70-over. The cut line for the top-eight spots ended up being 61-over.
Leading the tournament for the Golden Suns was senior
Ellen Spigner. The GAC Player of the Year and No. 18-ranked golfer in DII coming into the tournament, would finish in a tie for 10
th place individually with a tournament total of eight-over. In her opening round, Spigner shot six-over (78), but bounced back for an even-par (72) round two. On Thursday, Spigner closed out her championship with a two-over (74).
Jaylee Castro was the second finisher for Tech at the championship. She would finish tied for 48
th and shot 18-over for the tournament. Castro would post rounds of seven-over, seven-over and four-over. Four strokes back of Castro was
Jessie Norman. The freshman shot 22-over for the tournament and finished tied for 63
rd.
Maria Ruiz and
Averi Mickelson rounded out the lineup for the Golden Suns. Ruiz finished tied for 69
th at 24-over while Mickelson was tied for 84
th with a 35-over score.
