CORINTH, Texas – The Arkansas Tech women's golf team finished play in their second tournament of the season at the Dallas Baptist Classic on Tuesday afternoon and came away from the event tied for 10
th out of 15.

The DBU Classic, which was held at the Oakmont Country Club in Corinth, Texas, was originally scheduled to be a 54-hole event, but rain and wet course conditions altered it to a 36-hole event with single rounds being played on Monday and Tuesday.
After conclusion of play on Monday, the Golden Suns were in a tie for third place after shooting a five-over (293) as a team. In that first round, the Golden Suns were led by
Jaylee Castro as she shot a one-under (71) and was tied for fourth individually.
Averi Mickelson was just one stroke back of Castro on Monday and tied for 11
th while
Laura Weber Bernardo shot a two-over (74).
On Tuesday, the Golden Suns battled course conditions and shot 15-over (596) to drop them down to a tie for 10
th.
Castro would once more have the low score for the Golden Suns and shot two-over (74) to end up at one-over (145) for the tournament. That placed her in a tie for 14
th individually.
Ellen Spigner has the second-lowest score on Tuesday and shot a three-over (75). She would end up finishing in a tie for 47
th with a seven-over (151).
Mickelson was the second-overall finisher for the tournament as she tied for 31
st with a two-round score of four-over (148).
The Golden Suns will now prepare for their tournament, the Grace Shin Invitational. That event is being hosted by Central Oklahoma at the Edmond Country Club in Edmond. It is scheduled to be played Monday, October 6 – Tuesday, October 7.
