FORT SMITH, Ark. – Through play of the opening round of the 2025 Great American Conference Championship Tournament, the Arkansas Tech men's golf team is in second place and two shots back of the team lead after they shot a three-over (283) on Monday.

This year's conference championship tournament is being held at the par-70, 6,520-yard Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Leading the way for the Wonder Boys on Monday was
Landon Lawson. The junior honorable mention All-GAC selection shot a one-under (69). His opening round featured four birdies, and 11 pars. At the end of the first round, Lawson is tied for second and two strokes back of the leader.
One stroke back of Lawson on Monday was
Jacob Peetoom as he shot an even-par (70). Peetoom, who is tied for fifth, also had four birdies in his first round.
Shaun Jones and
Tobey Kim rounded out scoring for the Wonder Boys on Monday as each shot two-over (72). That score tied Jones and Kim for 12
th.
The second round of action is set to be played on Tuesday morning. The Wonder Boys will be in the final group to hit the course with tee times starting at 9:20 a.m.
