AFTON, Okla. – The Arkansas Tech men's golf team completed their fourth tournament of the fall season on Tuesday afternoon and finished the event in 13
th place as a team at the MSSU Fall Invitational.
FINAL RESULTS
Collectively, the Wonder Boys shot 912 over the course of the 54-hole tournament and posted rounds of 310, 302 and 300. Tech was also just four strokes back of being in the top-10 of the 18-team field.
In the opening round, the Wonder Boys were led by
Landon Lawson. The senior would shoot three-over (75).
Luke Hanson and
Roby Cooper were both two shots back of Lawson and shot five-over (77).
Jacob Peetoom rounded out scoring in the opening round with a nine-over (81).
Tech would go on to begin play in the second round later in the day on Monday, but were unable to finish due to darkness. Resuming the remainder of the round on Tuesday morning, the Wonder Boys were officially led that round by Hanson and Cooper. Both shot three-over (75) for the round. Peetoom and Knodle were next in counting scores with each shooting four-over (76).
The final round saw Lawson and Knodle each shoot even-par (72). Peetoom was next with four-over (76) while Hanson and Cooper each shot eight-over (80). Only one of those scores counted towards the team score.
Overall, Lawson had the best finish of the tournament and tied for 24
th with a nine-over (225). Knodle, Hanson and Cooper all tied for 60
th at 16-over (232). Peetoom was one shot back of them and tied for 66
th at 17-over (233).
The Wonder Boys will now prepare for their final tournament of the fall, the Tulsa Cup. That event will take place at the Indian Springs Country Club in Broken Arrow, Okla. It will take place from Monday, October 27 – Tuesday, October 28.
