EDMOND, Okla. – Arkansas Tech graduate golfer
Jackson Cole played his first round of the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Central/Midwest Region Tournament on Thursday. The Fayetteville native is tied for 19
th individually after shooting a one-under (69) on the par-70 KickingBird Golf Course in Edmond, Oklahoma.
ROUND ONE RESULTS
Cole's round started on hole No. 10 and through his first four holes played, he was at two-under thanks to consecutive birdies on No. 12 & No. 13. He would lose a stroke with a bogey on No. 15, but closed out the back-nine with three-straight pars.
After making the turn, Cole continued his par run with four more in a row before getting back to two-under with a birdie on No. 5. Two holes later, however, Cole was back to one-under, but closed his round with consecutive pars to go into the clubhouse at one-under.
Cole will now prepare for his second round on Friday afternoon. His scheduled tee time will be 2:30 p.m. and he will be grouped once more with Evan Johnson of Northwood and Kyle Buzaki of Walsh.
