BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Through two rounds of the 2024 Great American Conference Men's Golf Tournament, Arkansas Tech dropped a spot on the leaderboard and are in fifth place.
ROUND TWO RESULTS
In Monday's second round, the Wonder Boys shot 312 as a team and are at 616 through 36 holes. While dropping a spot to fifth, the Wonder Boys are just one stroke back of fourth-place Southwestern Oklahoma.
Pacing the Wonder Boys in the second round was their round one leader,
Jackson Cole. For the second-straight round, Cole shot a two-over (74) and will head into the final round in fifth place on the individual leaderboard. He is one stroke back of fourth and two back of third place.
In his second round, Cole started out on Hole No. 1 and bogeyed. After four-straight pars, he would double bogey Hole No. 6 to fall to three-over, but bounced back huge and fought back to even par before the turn as he birdied No. 8 and made eagle on No. 9.
On the back-nine, Cole fell back to four-over through Hole 14, but he would shoot two-under over his final four holes to close at two-over.
Landon Lawson was the second-low score for the Wonder Boys at five-over (77).
Roby Cooper was one shot back of Lawson and turned in a six-over (78).
Shaun Jones and
Oscar Darlington each shot an 83 to account for the rest of scoring.
The third and final round of the GAC Men's Golf Tournament will start for the Wonder Boys at 8:55 a.m. on Tuesday. The Wonder Boys will be paired with Southwestern Oklahoma and Southern Nazarene.
