RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech men's golf team finished its regular season slate of tournaments on Tuesday at the Natural State Classic, which was hosted by Harding University at the Cypress Creek Golf Club in Cabot.
FINAL RESULTS
The Wonder Boys would finish third in the event as a team and placed a pair of golfers in the top-10.
The top finisher for Tech was
Jackson Cole. The Fayetteville native would go under-par all three-rounds and ended at seven-under (209) to set a new career-low. In his first round on Monday, Cole shot one-under (71) and followed that up with a five-under (67) in the second round later that day.
Cole would close his tournament with another one-under (71), helping him finish in a tie for second place overall, one shot back of the individual medalist.
The second-low scorer for the tournament for the Wonder Boys was
Roby Cooper as he finished the event one-under (215). Cooper would finish 10
th overall and turned in a pair of rounds in the red as he was one-under (71) in round one and two-under (70) in the final round.
Behind Cooper was
Jacob Peetoom. Peetoom would finish tied for 15
th and after shooting six-over (78) in round one, turned in consecutive rounds at even par.
The Wonder Boys will now prepare for the upcoming Great American Conference Championship Tournament. This year's event will take place from Sunday, April 21 – Tuesday, April 23 at the Forest Ridge Golf Club in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
