LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Arkansas Tech men's golf team played 36 holes on Monday at the 2024 Las Vegas Desert Classic and placed 17
th out of the stacked 20-team field by the end of the day.
DAY ONE RESULTS
Playing two rounds on the day, the Wonder Boys made improvements overall as a team from their first-round score of 302 with a round-two team score of 297.
Freshman golfer
Jacob Peetoom had the biggest improvement from round one to two as he dropped eight strokes and shot a one-under (71). Senior
Oscar Darlington had a similar improvement and dropped seven strokes, shooting a one-over (73) in the second round. Sophomore
Landon Lawson was the third to improve his score in round two and dropped a stroke for a four-over (76).
The best overall round of the day for the Wonder Boys was turned in by senior
Jackson Cole as he shot a four-under (68) in the opening round. Cole would shoot five-over in the second round for a two-round score of 145. Going into the final round, Cole is tied for 24
th place on the individual leaderboard.
The Wonder Boys will tee off for their final round on Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. (PST). They will be grouped with Fort Lewis College, Illinois-Springfield and Southwestern Oklahoma.
