EL DORADO, Ark. – Initially scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday at the Arkansas Collegiate out at Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado, only one round of 18 was able to be played due to consistent rain in the area. At the conclusion of the day, the Arkansas Tech men's golf team is tied for fifth with Harding and just three shots back of second place.
ROUND ONE RESULTS
Just ahead of the Wonder Boys in the standings is Henderson State, Drury and Northeastern State. Henderson is currently one stroke ahead with a round-one score of 312. Drury is one shot ahead of the Reddies at 311 while Northeastern State is a shot better at 310. Host school Southern Arkansas leads the field with a 298.
Pacing the Wonder Boys in the opening round was
Oscar Darlington as he shot a three-over (75) on Monday. Darlington's round featured three birdies and nine pars and have him tied for 6
th on the individual leaderboard. Three strokes back of Darlington was
Shaun Jones as he shot a six-over (78). Jones would also have three birdies in his round.
Luke Hanson was the third score counted for the Wonder Boys on Monday as he shot a seven-over (79). Rounding out scoring efforts was
Jackson Cole as he shot a nine-over (81).
The tournament is scheduled to be completed with a final round of 18 holes being played on Tuesday. The final round is scheduled to have a shotgun start of 8 a.m. The Wonder Boys will be paired with Harding and Northeastern State.
