HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Arkansas Tech freshman golfer
Tobey Kim turned in the best performance of his young collegiate career as he tied for first place at the Battle for the Belt. Kim's individual performance helped lead the Arkansas Tech men's golf team to four-place finish as they collectively shot two-over.
OFFICIAL RESULTS
The Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico product, Kim got his great tournament off to an amazing start as he shot a seven-under (67) in the opening round on Monday. Kim followed that with a second round score of two-under (70) to put him at nine-under through play on Monday.
Playing in his second collegiate tournament ever, Kim ended with an even-par (72) in the final round. Overall, for the week, Kim carded 13 birdies to go with one eagle.
Oscar Darlington was the second-low score in each of the first two rounds as he shot a five-under (69) in the opening round and then a one-under (71) in round two. Overall, Darlington carded 10 birdies and would finish his tournament under par with a final score of one-under (215).
Mack Moore bounced back from his round one dropped score of six-over (78) with a three-under (69) in round two. He would shoot two-over (74) in the final round to finish his tournament at five-over (221) and tied for 30th.
Jacob Peetoom rounded out the scoring shooting nine-over (225). He would end up tying for 39th.
The next and last showing for the Wonder Boys this fall will be at the DBU Classic. This will be held at the Rockwell Golf and AC in Rockwell, Texas Oct. 28 – 29.
