BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – Playing in their first tournament of the fall season, the Arkansas Tech women's golf team, along with the rest of the 17-team field, battled windy conditions out at the par-72 Adams Point Golf Club in Blue Springs, Mo. on Monday. The tough weather conditions resulted in no team shooting under 300.

As a team, the Golden Suns shot a 326 (+38) and are in 13
th place. Despite that, they are just 11 strokes back of the top-10. All five of the golfers in their lineup were bunched together with the four counters being one stroke off one another.
Pacing the team on Monday were sophomore all-conference and all-region golfer
Ellen Spigner and sophomore transfer
Averi Mickelson. Both would shoot 81 (+9) and are tied for 42
nd on the individual leaderboard.
One shot off Spigner and Mickelson's pace were transfers
Isabel Chaidez and
Kylie Rehberger. Both would shoot 82 (+10) and are tied for 50
th individually in their debuts as Golden Suns. Tech's fifth golfer on Monday,
Jaylee Castro, was one shot back of Chaidez and Rehberger and is tied for 53
rd.
The second and final round of the tournament will take place on Tuesday morning with scheduled tee times from the first tee.
Castro will be first on the course for Tech at 9:50 a.m. Rehberger and Chaidez will have the 9:58 and 10:06 tee times while Mickelson and Spigner will have the 10:14 and 10:22 times.
