NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech women's tennis team played their second Division I opponent in as many weeks on Saturday as they took on Arkansas State at Burns Park in North Little Rock. Tech would come out on the down side of the match, but did collect singles wins in flights three and four to bring the match score to 5-2.
Arkansas State got off to a quick start in the match with a clean sweep in doubles play, garnering them the doubles point and a 1-0 lead heading into singles action.
In singles action, all six matches were highly-competitive with the Golden Suns winning at least two games in each set.
The aforementioned wins at flights three and four saw
Aastha Dargude win at No. 3, 6-2, 6-4 and
Madalena Amil win 6-7, 6-3, 7-5.
The Golden Suns will now prepare for a home match on Monday, February 27 against Arkansas-Fort Smith. First-serve from the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex is scheduled for 2 p.m.
