RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – A day after a thrilling 4-3 win over Henderson State in the championship match of the 2026 Great American Conference Tournament and securing the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Central Region Tournament, the Golden Suns learned of their seed and opponent for the first round during the selection show on Monday night.
The Golden Suns are one of three teams that will be in the Central Region 2 bracket and will be the No. 6-seed and take on No. 3-seed Washburn. That match is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, May 8 and will take place at the Edmond Center Court in Edmond, Okla.
The winner of the match will advance to take on host and No. 2-seed Central Oklahoma. That match is slated for an 11 a.m. start on Saturday, May 9.
This will be the Golden Suns' fourth appearance at a NCAA Regional Tournament and the first since 2015.
