BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – The Arkansas Tech men's golf team wrapped up its slate of five fall tournaments on Tuesday with the conclusion of the Tulsa Cup where they finished ninth out of 18.
FINAL RESULTS
Leading the way for the Wonder Boys at the tournament was
Jackson Cole. Tying for 12
th individually, Cole improved his score each round after posting a round-one score of two-over (74). In the second round, Cole dropped a stroke and shot one-over (73), ending his first day of play in tie for 23
rd.
In the final round on Tuesday, Cole shot up the individual leaderboard with a two-under (70). In that round, Cole opened up with 11-straight pars before making bogey on Hole 15. He then bounced back and birdied three of the next four holes to get to two-under and held that score with consecutive pars to end his round.
Three strokes off Cole's performance was
Viktor Olund with a three-round total of 220. Olund would tie for 21
st after rounds of 71-73-76.
Making the biggest jump from throughout the tournament was
Shaun Jones. After his opening round 77, Jones bounced back and shot one-over (73) in the second round on Monday and then even-par (72) in Tuesday's final round. The steady improvement by Jones helped him finish in a tie for 30
th.
The Wonder Boys will now prepare for the start of their spring season. First up in their spring slate is the Houston Classic, which will be held at the Golf Club of Houston from February 12-13.
