RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech baseball team looks to carry the momentum from their 11-8 home win over No. 8-ranked Southern Arkansas earlier this week as they remain in town over the weekend and host Ouachita for a three-game Great American Conference series. The series is scheduled to begin Friday, April 1 at 6 p.m. and conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.

SCOUTING OUACHITA
The Tigers enter play this weekend 18-11 overall and are 12-6 in the Great American Conference. The Tigers are coming off a 10-5 win at home over Delta State earlier this week. Prior to that game, Ouachita dropped the final two games of their weekend series at Northwestern Oklahoma.
Offensively, the Tigers are hitting .285 as a team (271-for-952) with 226 runs scored, 52 doubles, four triples and 24 home runs. Entering the weekend, the Tigers have three players hitting .300 or better with
Judd Arrington leading the way at .366 (37-for-101).

In terms of power numbers, the Tigers have eight players with a home run and six of those have multiple homers.
G. Allen leads the team in homers with eight.
Wyatt Core is next with five followed by
Cade Burris' three. Allen is pacing the team in RBIs with 32. Two other Tiger hitters have 20 or more RBIs.

On the mound, the Tigers have a 6.00 team ERA and have struck out 239 batters in 241.2 innings of work.

This past weekend, the Bison used a weekend rotation of
Cooper Timmons,
Cameron Marchant and
Beau Burson. Those three have combined to make 19 starts and are collectively 10-4 with 113 strikeouts in 110.2 innings of work. Timmons paces the starters and is 4-2 with a 3.95 ERA. He has 38 strikeouts in 41.0 innings. Marchant is 3-0 with a 4.94 ERA and has 28 Ks in 31.0 innings. Burson is 3-2 with a 6.75 ERA and has 47 strikeouts in 38.2 innings.

Outside of their latest weekend rotation, 13 different pitchers have been used by Ouachita. The most appearances made by a reliever is
Caleb Donoho with 12. He is 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA and has 10 strikeouts in 11.2 innings. As a team, Ouachita has notched five saves and there has been a different Tiger credited with each save.

TECH TIDBITS
The Wonder Boys enter play this weekend 16-11 overall and are 9-9 in the Great American Conference. Tech is coming off a big 11-8 win over No. 8-ranked Southern Arkansas earlier this week. The nationally-ranked win in mid-week action was the Wonder Boys' second this season. They previously knocked off then-ranked No. 16 Henderson State, 12-6, at home.

That win over SAU also got the Wonder Boys back on track as they were swept on the road last weekend at Oklahoma Baptist.

Offensively, the Wonder Boys enter play against Ouachita hitting .304 as a team (267-for-878) with 186 runs scored, 47 doubles, four triples and 33 home runs. Individually, the Wonder Boys have five batters with at least 50 at-bats hitting .300 or better with
Sam Stephenson leading the team at .444 (24-for-54).

In terms of power numbers, the Wonder Boys have 10 players with a home run and nine of those have multiple home runs. Tech is currently led by
Josh Detweiler's seven homers.
Shelby Quiggins is next with six.
Evan Hafley leads the team in RBIs with 23. Five other Wonder Boys have driven in at least 15 runs as well.

Patrick Miner,
Shane Scott and
Will Horton have made up the weekend rotation thus far and are 9-6 combined with 122 strikeouts in 118.0 innings of work. Miner paces the starters with a 5-1 record and a 3.70 ERA with 52 strikeouts in 48.2 innings. Scott is 3-1 with a 4.89 ERA and has 34 strikeouts in 38.2 innings. Horton is currently 1-4 with a 7.92 ERA and has 36 strikeouts in 30.2 innings of work.

In relief, the Wonder Boys have notched four saves with
Ty Van Meter accounting for three of the saves. He has appeared in eight games and currently has 20 strikeouts in 11.2 innings.
John Walsh and
Grant Shahan have been go-to relievers for the Wonder Boys.

Walsh has made 10 relief appearances and is 2-0 with a 4.79 ERA. He has 29 strikeouts in 20.2 innings. Shahan has made eight relief appearances and is 0-2 with a save. He as has a 4.00 ERA and has struck out 20 batters in 18.0 innings.
