RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech junior pitcher
Eric Woodley is a consensus all-region reliever as the final major NCAA Division II baseball organization released its all-region team on Wednesday.
ABCA ALL-CENTRAL REGION | D2CCA ALL-CENTRAL REGION | NCBWA ALL-CENTRAL REGION
The all-region team announced on Wednesday was from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) in which Woodley was tabbed Second Team All-Central Region. The other two all-region plaudits received by Woodley tabbed him as a First Team All-Central Region as he earned that honor from the Division 2 Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) and the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA).
As a first team selection, Woodley is now up for All-America consideration from both organizations.
In his first season with the Wonder Boys, Woodley assumed the closer role and made 19 appearances with most being high-leverage spots. He would post a 2-1 record with 11 saves, a 2.10 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 25.2 innings of work.
His 11 saves tied for second in a single-season at Tech and ranked second in all of DII.
