RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech junior golfer
Francois Jacobs has been named as the latest Great American Conference Golfer of the Week as it was announced by the league office on Wednesday.
It is the third time this season that Jacobs has been named the GAC Golfer of the Week and it marks the seventh time in his career.
A native of League City, Texas, Jacobs earned this latest weekly honor after he soared up the individual leaderboard in the final round of the Las Vegas Desert Classic to claim a top-10 individual finish.
Through 36 holes, Jacobs was six-over and tied for 38th. In the final round on Tuesday, Jacobs shot a five-under 67, skyrocketing him to a tie for 7th place as he finished the tournament one-over par.
Jacobs' great final round also helped lift the Wonder Boys as a whole as they climbed a pair of spots on the team leaderboard and finished seventh. The 2022 Las Vegas Desert Classic featured 11 teams ranked in the latest GolfStat rankings and Tech's finish placed them ahead of six of those teams.
