RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Following a top-10 finish at the Firekeeper Open earlier this week, Arkansas Tech junior golfer Jacob Peetoom has been named as the Great American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office on Wednesday.
 
It is the second GAC weekly award this season for Peetoom and the third of his career.
 
Peetoom earned this week's GAC Golfer of the Week after he was the top GAC finisher at the Firekeeper Open and shot a two-over (218) for the tournament.
 
Peetoom would shoot two-over on Monday as he carded consecutive rounds of 73 (+1). On Tuesday, he dropped a stoke and shot even par (72). For the tournament, Peetoom would have seven birdies and one eagle (hole four, round two – par 5).
 
Peetoom and the rest of the Wonder Boys are preparing for the upcoming GAC Championship Tournament. This year's championship will take place at the Club at Forest Ridge in Broken Arrow, Okla. The three-day event is scheduled to start on Saturday, April 18 and run through Monday, April 20.
