EDMOND, Okla. – The Arkansas Tech men's golf team dropped seven strokes from their total on Tuesday to climb up three spots on the leaderboard and secure a seventh-place finish at the Oak Tree Invitational.

Forced to be played as just a 36-hole tournament due to frigid temperatures on Monday morning, the Oak Tree Invitational featured a single round of 18 on Monday afternoon and concluded with a single round on Tuesday.
After play in the opening round, the Wonder Boys shot 24-over as a team and were in 10
th place. On Tuesday, they finished 17-over as a team and ascended to seventh place.
Spearheading that solid turnaround was junior
Jacob Peetoom as he improved 11 shots from round one to round two. In the opening round, Peetoom shot 10-over (80) and had no birdies. On Tuesday, he finished in the red at 1-under (69).
Starting his round on No. 10, Peetoom was three-under through his first five holes. He would fall back to even over the remainder of the back-nine, but bounced back with a clean front-nine in which he birdied the par-4 No. 5.
Peetoom's stark improvement skyrocketed him up the individual leaderboard as he finished T16.
Finishing one total stroke ahead of Peetoom was
Cameron Twynholm as he finished the tournament T12. Twynholm would have consistent rounds of four-over (74).
Roby Cooper was the third-low score for Tech as he shot 13-over. He would improve a stroke from the first round.
The Wonder Boys will now prepare for their final regular season tournament of the year, the Firekeeper Open, hosted by Washburn. That two-day event is scheduled to be played from the Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayetta, Kan. from Monday, April 6 – Tuesday, April 7.
