BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Inclement weather throughout the day created unplayable course conditions at the Club at Forest Ridge and forced the opening round of the women's Tulsa Cup to be suspended prior to completion on Monday.
DAY ONE RESULTS
At the time of the suspension, most of the 18 teams in the field were either on or had completed their 13
th hole of the round. Play is schedule to resume on Tuesday morning with the remainder of the first round be finished, followed immediately by the start of the second and final round as the tournament will now be a 36-hole event.
Prior to the round being called for the day, the Golden Suns were in the thick of it and tied for fifth with Northeastern State and host Rogers State at 19-over. Nationally-ranked Henderson State (No. 2) and Augustana (No. 19) are tied for third and are just two shots ahead of Tech.
Leading the charge for the Golden Suns so far is
Josie Roberson. She is currently in fourth place and one-over through 14 holes.
Katie Whitfield is next and tied for 23
rd at five-over through 13 holes.
Mekky Winyarat and
Ellen Spigner are one shot back of another at six-over and seven-over, respectively.
