SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The Golden Suns battled harsh weather conditions and a narrow field as they landed sixth place at the 2019 Rattler Invitational hosted by Saint Mary's University (Texas). The Suns carded a total of 314 (+26) in the one-round, 18-hole tournament.
Dallas Baptist, recently ranked No. 1 in the country, won the title with a card of 304 (+16). Arkansas Tech is currently ranked at No. 5.
Peerada Piddon led the Suns with a card of 77 (+5) and finished in a four-way tie for 12
th place.
Makenzie Douglas came next, carding a 78 and landing in a seven-way tie for 16
th place.
Jacqueline Klemm carded a 79 and finished in a five-way tie for 25
th place.
Pia Nunbhakdi finished with a card of 80 in a seven-way tie for 30
th place. One of the other 30
thplace finishers was
Cintia Bolanos, who competed as an individual.
Sydney Staton rounded out the Tech card with an 82, tying with 10 others for 45
th place.
The Golden Suns are back in action on Monday as they travel to San Marcos, Calif. for the Fujikura Invitational.
