MIAMI SHORES, Fla. —  The Golden Suns topped two teams that are currently above them in national rankings in route to landing third place at the Barry Invitational. Tech carded a total score of 875 (+11) and finished just four strokes behind second-place Florida Tech.
 
The Suns are currently ranked No. 6 in the nation. They defeated Nova Southeastern, currently ranked No. 3, and University of Indianapolis, currently ranked. No. 4.
 
Host Barry University ran away in Round 3 to earn the title, carding an 862 (-2).
 
Peerada Piddon once again led the way for the Golden Suns, carding an impressive 216 (even with par) and landing in a three-way tie for ninth place. Jacqueline Klemm followed closely behind, carding a 218 and finishing in a four-way tie for 13^thplace. 
 
Sydney Staton landed in the top 20 for the first time this spring, carding a 220 and finishing in a four-way tie for 19^thplace. 
 
Pia Nunbhakdi carded a 221, landing in a four-way tie for 23^rdplace. Makenzie Douglas rounded out the Tech card with a 235, finishing in a three-way tie for 71^stplace.
 
The Golden Suns are back in action Monday, April 8, as they host the Central Region Spring Preview at the Rivercut Golf Club in Springfield, Mo.
