DALLAS, Texas – Arkansas Tech women's golf team is in second place after day one at the DBU Women's Fall Classic on Monday.
Peerada Piddon leads the Golden Suns and is third place, while
Pia Nunbhakdi sits in a tie for sixth.
Arkansas Tech began the tournament by firing its lowest round of the season with a 282 (-6). The Suns followed with a second round of 295 (+7) for a two-round total of 577 (+1). Tech trails first place Dallas Baptist by eight strokes.
Piddon put together a strong performance as she tied her career-low 18-hole score with a 67 (-5) in the opening round. She followed with a second-round score of 73 (+1) for an overall score of 140 (-4). Nunbhakdi fired the second-lowest round of the day for the Golden Suns with a 70 (-2) in her first 18-holes. Nunbhakdi out together a second-round score of 73 (+1) for a total of 143 (-1).
Jacqueline Klemm finished just outside of the top-ten as she finished the day with two rounds of 73 (+1) for a total of 146 (+2).
The Golden Suns finish play in their final event of the fall on Tuesday.
