WONDER BOYS TRAVEL TO HARDING ON WEDNESDAY

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Coming off a 2-1 series victory over GAC preseason favorite Oklahoma Baptist last weekend, the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys will travel to Searcy, Ark. on Wednesday to take on Harding in a nonconference contest. The midweek game is scheduled for 3 p.m.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Arkansas Tech leads the all-time series against Harding, 84-46. The Bisons took three of four games last season, however, snapping the Wonder Boys' four-game win streak over Harding. The two teams first met in 1965, with Tech defeating Harding, 5-0.
 
SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYS
Arkansas Tech (18-12, 14-4 GAC) is 4-2 in its last six conference matches but just 2-4 in midweek games this season. The Wonder Boys currently sit in second in the Great American Conference standings, three games behind No. 16 Southern Arkansas.
 
Dylan McDearmon leads the Wonder Boys with a .339 batting average, while his 13 doubles are 11th best in Division II. Zach Klockowski ranks third in the GAC with a .653 slugging percentage and 30 runs batted in. Korey Thompson is hitting .293 and has recorded at least one hit in five of his last six games. With just five strikeouts in 75 at bats this season, Thompson is currently the GAC's toughest batter to strike out.
 
Kyle Wilson, Trent Armstrong and Geoffrey Birkemeier lead Tech's pitching staff with four wins each. All three starters also rank in the GAC's top 10 in earned-run average, with Wilson's 2.28 ERA is third lowest in the conference. Quentin Bowling has made eight appearances this season and maintains a team-best 1.62 earned-run average. Jesse Harbin leads the Wonder Boys with five saves this season, including two last weekend against Oklahoma Baptist.
 
SCOUTING THE BISONS
Harding (10-18, 8-10 GAC) enters the game after taking two of three games from Southern Nazarene last weekend. The Bisons have won three of their last four games after getting swept in a three-game series against Oklahoma Baptist. Harding currently sits in a tie for sixth in the GAC standings.
 
The Bisons are hitting .239 as a team this season, while its opponents have posted a .286 batting average. Chris Taylor leads Harding with a .305 average, while Luke VanDover has batted in a team-high 15 runs. Sam Alender leads Harding's pitchers with a 4.29 earned-run average, and Logan McCall follows with a 4.32 ERA in a team-high 15 appearances.
