Box Score TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Kris Ayers went 2-for-3, Patrick Castleberry drove in three runs, and Aaron Johnson picked up his second win of the season on the mound as the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys baseball team (24-17) won a rain-shortened contest against Northeastern State, picking up a 7-2 victory on Tuesday.

Johnson kept the RiverHawks (23-15) off balance over his five innings of work, scattering three hits and allowing two runs, one of which was earned.

Meanwhile, the Tech offense broke through in the second inning as Mark Vaughn's RBI single gave the Wonder Boys a 1-0 lead.

The Wonder Boys extended that lead one inning later as Cole Fergus smashed a two-run homer, pushing Tech ahead 3-0. A bases-loaded double by Castleberry in the fourth pushed Tech's lead to 6-0 before the RiverHawks could muster their first run of the contest.

NSU cut the margin to 6-2 in the fifth, using an RBI double and an error to get on the board. However, the Wonder Boys tacked on an insurance run on a fielder's choice in the sixth, and Zach Skelton tossed a perfect sixth in relief.

With six innings in the books, the game was called on account of rain.

Arkansas Tech returns to action this Friday and Saturday, hosting Northwestern Oklahoma in a three-game set at Tech Field. First pitch Friday is set for 7 p.m., while Saturday's doubleheader is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
