SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Arkansas Tech men's golf team began their 2026-27 season over the last two days by playing The Dewsweeper, hosted by St. Mary's University of Texas at TPC San Antionio. Competing against a stacked field that had eight teams finish in the top-50 of the final SCOREBOARD rankings, five within the top-30 and two in the top-10, the Wonder Boys rode monster round two for a runner-up finish.
OFFICIAL RESULTS
After the opening round on Monday, the Wonder Boys shot five-over as a team and were tied for seventh among the 12-team field. Later that day, the Wonder Boys turned in the best team score for the entire tournament as they shot eight-under.
That spring boarded the Wonder Boys into a tie for second place at the end of 36 holes of play. Returner
Cameron Twynholm and newcomer
Sebastien De Vooght led the surge for Tech in round two as they both shot under-par with Twynholm going three-under (69) and De Vooght at five-under (67). Tech also got even-par rounds from returner
Luke Hanson and newcomer
Alex Miller.
Throughout the final round on Tuesday, Tech was in position for a potential team win but ultimately landed runner-up and three strokes back of CSU-San Bernardino as the Wonder Boys shot two-over as a team. For the tournament, Tech shot one-under (863) as a team.
Returner
Jacob Peetoom and Miller both shot under-par in round two with Peetoom firing a two-under (70) and Miller a one-under (71). Peetoom and Miller would finish in the top-15 overall with Miller at 15
th with a one-over (217) and Peetoom tied for 12
th with an even-par (216). De Vooght also ended up shooting even-par (216) to tie with Peetoom.
The Wonder Boys will now prepare for the Skip Wagnon Invitational. That event, hosted by Central Oklahoma, is scheduled to take place October 5-6 at Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond, Okla.
