RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech junior pitcher
Emily Richarde has been named as the latest Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week as it was announced by the league office on Monday.
It is the first GAC weekly honor in the career of Richarde and the third this season for the Golden Suns.
In earning the conference award, Richarde added her name to the Arkansas Tech softball record books by pitching the program's 22
nd no-hitter and second this season. Richarde's no-hitter came in her second appearance of the series against Henderson State, which was the series finale.
In her first outing, Richarde recorded a three-inning save in Tech's 3-1 win in game two.
Across 10.0 innings against Henderson, Richarde allowed no hits, no runs, walked three and struck out nine. She is now 5-2 overall with two saves and a 2.20 ERA.
