Fueling the big opening round for the Wonder Boys were a pair of four-under (68) rounds from
Jacob Peetoom and
Cameron Twynholm.
Peetoom's round featured five birdies and just one bogey blemish. Starting on No. 1, Peetoom birdied No. 2 and then was at three-under by the turn with birdies at No. 7 and No. 9. On the back-nine, Peetoom bogeyed the par-4 No. 12 to drop to two-under, but closed out the round with four pars and a pair of birdies on No. 15 and No. 18 to finish four-under.
Twynholm's round was highlighted by a spectacular back-nine, specifically his final eight holes. After a double bogey on the par-4 No. 10 dropped him to one-over, Twynholm birdied five of his final eight holes, including a three-hole stretch from No. 14-16.
The Wonder Boys will now prepare for the second round of the GAC Championship Tournament, which will take place on Monday.
