LEADING OFF
The Arkansas Tech baseball team remains at home and play a midweek game against Henderson State.
 
The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. from Baswell Field.
 
Historically, the Wonder Boys and Reddies have met 186 times before their clash on Tuesday. Tech holds a 108-78 lead in the series.
 
TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys enters the midweek game 13-10 overall and are coming off a series win at home against Arkansas-Monticello last weekend. The Wonder Boys won the first game 12-11 in 10 innings, lost the second game 18-6 and then claimed the rubber match, 8-2.
 
Statistically, the Wonder Boys are hitting .268 as a team (197-for-736) with 137 runs scored, 33 doubles, six triples and 12 home runs. Derek Rockett currently leads the team in batting average at .364 (24-for-66). Kirby Jenkins has been the biggest power threat for the Wonder Boys as he leads the team with a .55 slugging percentage thanks to six doubles, three triples and five home runs. Jenkins also leads the team in RBIs with 29 and in runs scored with 20.
 
On the mound, the Wonder Boys have a team ERA of 5.90 and have struck out 147 batters in 190.2 innings of work.
 
Cole Dickson, Creighton Jacobitz and Daniel Hutchison all made starts over Tech's most-recent weekend against Arkansas-Monticello and likely will not see action against Henderson in the midweek game.
 
Derek Rockett started the most-recent midweek game and went 5.0 innings with one run allowed, four hits, one walk and four strikeout against Ouachita. Zach Moss and Vaughn O'Leary have also started midweek game this season.
 
Leading the Wonder Boys once more is Dave Dawson. The all-time winningest coach in Tech Baseball history, Dawson enters his 17th year in the dugout for the Wonder Boys. In his previous 16 seasons, Dawson has guided amassed a 482-334 record. He has also had nine seasons with 30 or more wins which includes the 2014 season in which he led the team a program-record 44 wins and hosting rights for that year's Central Region Tournament.
 
Overall, Dawson is in his 21st year as a head baseball coach at the collegiate level as he spent four years as head coach at Kansas Wesleyan and totaled 118 wins. His combined win total at Tech and Kansas Wesleyan have him with a career record of 613-435.
 
SCOUTING HENDERSON STATE
Henderson State enters the midweek game at Tech 11-8 overall. They are coming off a series win at home against Harding this past weekend as they won the first and final games of the series.
 
Offensively, the Reddies are hitting .272 as a team (167-for-615) with 142 runs scored, 49 doubles, three triples and 19 home runs. They are led in hitting by Tripp Campbell at .348 (23-for-66). Tanner Ross has been the biggest power threat for the Reddies as he leads the team in slugging percentage at .592 thanks to six doubles, a triple and four home runs. Campbell leads the team in RBIs with 19 and in runs scored with 21.
 
On the mound, the Reddies have a 5.96 team ERA and have struck out 152 batters in 157.0 innings of work.
 
The Reddies used a weekend rotation of Ethan Roark, Cale Edmonds and Dawson Goines in their weekend series against Harding. Those three figure to not see action against Tech on Tuesday.
 
Jayce Moore has made starts in the previous three midweek games for Henderson. Moore is 1-0 with a 4.91 ERA and has seven strikeouts in 11.0 innings.
 
The Reddies are led by Cody Hooten, who is in his 16th season at Henderson State. In his time at HSU, Hooten is 420-345.
