LEADING OFF
The Arkansas Tech baseball team will be at home this weekend and host Arkansas-Monticello in a key Great American Conference series.

The series is scheduled to be played over the course two days with a single game on Thursday night starting at 6 p.m. and then a doubleheader on Friday starting at 1 p.m.

Historically, the Wonder Boys and Boll Weevils have met 175 times before their clash this weekend with the most-recent being a midweek game at UAM on February 10. Tech won that game and holds a 114-60 lead in the series.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys enters the weekend series 11-9 overall and 7-2 in the GAC. Tech is coming off a series win on the road at Southern Arkansas last weekend in which they won the first two games by scores of 4-1 and 8-3. Most-recently, the Wonder Boys won a road midweek game at Ouachita Baptist, 6-2, this past Tuesday.

Statistically, the Wonder Boys are hitting .254 as a team (162-for-638) with 111 runs scored, 28 doubles, three triples and 12 home runs.
Kirby Jenkins currently leads the team in batting average at .333 (24-for-72).
Jenkins has also been the power threat for the Wonder Boys as he leads the team with a .681 slugging percentage thanks to six doubles, two triples and five home runs.
Jenkins also leads the team in RBIs with 27 and in runs scored with 17.

On the mound, the Wonder Boys have a team ERA of 5.60 and have struck out 119 batters in 165.2 innings of work.

Cole Dickson,
Creighton Jacobitz and
Daniel Hutchison all made starts over Tech's most-recent weekend at Southern Arkansas and figure to be among the rotation this weekend against Southern Arkansas.

Jacobitz is 3-2 with a 3.24 ERA and has 22 strikeouts in 25.0 innings.
Hutchison is 2-3 with an 8.00 ERA and has eight strikeouts in 18.0 innings.
Dickson is 1-1 with an 8.00 ERA and has 14 strikeouts in 18.0 innings.

Leading the Wonder Boys once more is
Dave Dawson. The all-time winningest coach in Tech Baseball history,
Dawson enters his 17th year in the dugout for the Wonder Boys. In his previous 16 seasons,
Dawson has guided amassed a 482-334 record. He has also had nine seasons with 30 or more wins which includes the 2014 season in which he led the team a program-record 44 wins and hosting rights for that year's Central Region Tournament.

Overall,
Dawson is in his 21st year as a head baseball coach at the collegiate level as he spent four years as head coach at Kansas Wesleyan and totaled 118 wins. His combined win total at Tech and Kansas Wesleyan have him with a career record of 611-434.

SCOUTING ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO
Arkansas-Monticello enters the series at Tech 10-7 overall and 8-1 in the GAC. They are coming off a series win at home against Henderson State this past weekend as they won the last two games. Most-recently, the Boll Weevils are coming off an 11-4 loss on the road at Mississippi College in a midweek game this past Tuesday.

Offensively, the Boll Weevils are hitting .337 as a team (191-for-566) with 161 runs scored, 39 doubles, two triples and 28 home runs. They are led in hitting by
Camden Tanner at .510 (26-for-51).
Jackson Riedling has been the biggest power threat for the Boll Weevils as he leads the team in slugging percentage at 1.065 thanks to four doubles, a triple and four home runs.
Eli Marvin leads the team in RBIs with 23 while
Drew Floyd leads the team in runs scored with 22.

On the mound, the Boll Weevils have a 6.87 team ERA and have struck out 108 batters in 133.2 innings of work.

The Boll Weevils used a weekend rotation of
Tyler Bribiescas,
Vincent Segovia and
Hunter Heath in their weekend series against Henderson State. Those three figure to be in the weekend rotation against Tech.

Bribiescas is 1-1 with a 10.47 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 16.1 innings.
Segovia is 1-1 with a 10.24 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 9.2 innings.
Hunter is 2-0 with a 2.70 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 20.0 innings.
