LEADING OFF
The Arkansas Tech baseball team is back at home for a second-straight weekend and will take on Ouachita Baptist in a three-game conference series.

The series is scheduled to start with a single game on Friday night starting at 6 p.m. and conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.

Historically, the Wonder Boys and Tigers have met 182 times before their clash this weekend. Tech currently leads the series 107-74-1.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys enters the game 18-14 overall and 13-5 in conference play. They are coming off a three-game sweep at home over East Central this past weekend in which they scored 41 runs on 40 hits. Most-recently, they lost a midweek game on the road, losing 10-9 at Union.

Statistically, the Wonder Boys are hitting .278 as a team (279-for-1,002) with 211 runs scored, 49 doubles, six triples and 22 home runs.
Kirby Jenkins currently leads the team in batting average at .345 (39-for-113).
Jenkins has also been the biggest power threat for the Wonder Boys as he leads the team with a .708 slugging percentage thanks to 11 doubles, three triples and eight home runs.
Jenkins also leads the team in RBIs with 42 and runs scored with 31.

On the mound, the Wonder Boys have a team ERA of 5.43 and have struck out 191 batters in 258.2 innings of work.

Cole Dickson,
Creighton Jacobitz and
Daniel Hutchison all made starts over Tech's most-recent weekend against East Central and figure to be among the rotation this weekend against Ouachita Baptist.

Jacobitz is 5-3 with a 3.40 ERA and has 31 strikeouts in 42.1 innings.
Hutchison is 4-4 with a 5.66 ERA and has 20 strikeouts in 35.0 innings.
Dickson is 2-2 with a 7.02 ERA and has 28 strikeouts in 33.1 innings.

Leading the Wonder Boys once more is
Dave Dawson. The all-time winningest coach in Tech Baseball history,
Dawson enters his 17th year in the dugout for the Wonder Boys. In his previous 16 seasons,
Dawson has guided amassed a 482-334 record. He has also had nine seasons with 30 or more wins which includes the 2014 season in which he led the team a program-record 44 wins and hosting rights for that year's Central Region Tournament.

Overall,
Dawson is in his 21st year as a head baseball coach at the collegiate level as he spent four years as head coach at Kansas Wesleyan and totaled 118 wins. His combined win total at Tech and Kansas Wesleyan have him with a career record of 618-439.

SCOUTING OUACHITA BAPTIST
Ouachita Baptist enters the series against Tech at 15-14 overall and 9-9 in the GAC. They are coming off a series win on the road at Oklahoma Baptist this past weekend. The Tigers would drop the opening game, but bounced back for an 8-5 win in game two and a 13-0 win in the finale. Most-recently, Ouachita split a doubleheader on the road at Christian Brothers this past Wednesday.

Offensively, the Tigers are hitting .270 as a team (254-for-909) with 172 runs scored, 36 doubles, three triples and 20 home runs. They are led in hitting by
Jaren Ceasar at .409 (45-for-110).
Joseph Bolin has been the biggest power threat for the Tigers as he leads the team in slugging percentage at .524 thanks to five doubles and five home runs.
Bolin also leads the team in RBIs with 25 and in runs scored with 23.

On the mound, the Tigers have a 5.62 team ERA and have struck out 166 batters in 232.1 innings of work.

The Tigers used a weekend rotation of
Austin Ford,
Reece Tarini and
Austin Bagnall in their weekend series against Oklahoma Baptist. Those three figure to be in the mix for the rotation against Tech.

Ford is 0-1 with an 11.00 ERA and has three strikeouts in 9.0 innings.
Tarini is 3-2 with a 4.54 ERA and has 26 strikeouts in 39.2 innings.
Bagnall is 1-3 with a 5.81 ERA and has 23 strikeouts in 31.0 innings.

Luke Howard, who is in his eighth season as head coach at Ouachita Baptist. In his time at Ouachita,
Howard is 185-167.
