LEADING OFF
The Arkansas Tech baseball team remains on the road for a fourth-straight game as they will travel to Arkadelphia for a midweek game against Ouachita Baptist.
 
The game is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. from Rab Rodgers Field in Arkadelphia.
 
Historically, the Wonder Boys and Tigers have met 181 times before their clash on Tuesday. Tech holds a 106-74-1 lead in the series.
 
TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys enters the midweek game 10-9 overall. They are coming off a series win this past weekend on the road at Southern Arkansas. Tech won the first two games, 4-1 and 8-3 before dropping the finale, 7-3.
 
Statistically, the Wonder Boys are hitting .252 as a team (152-for-603) with 105 runs scored, 25 doubles, three triples and 11 home runs. Kirby Jenkins currently leads the team in batting average at .348 (24-for-69). Jenkins has also been the power threat for the Wonder Boys as he leads the team with a .710 slugging percentage thanks to six doubles, two triples and five home runs. Jenkins also leads the team in RBIs with 27 and in runs scored with 16.
 
On the mound, the Wonder Boys have a team ERA of 5.80 and have struck out 112 batters in 156.2 innings of work.
 
Cole Dickson, Creighton Jacobitz and Daniel Hutchison all made starts over Tech's most-recent weekend at Southern Arkansas and likely will not see action against Ouachita in the midweek game.
 
Vaughn O'Leary started the most-recent midweek game and went 2.0 innings with no runs allowed, three hits, no walks and a strikeout against Harding. Zach Moss and Derek Rockett have also started midweek game this season.
 
Leading the Wonder Boys once more is Dave Dawson. The all-time winningest coach in Tech Baseball history, Dawson enters his 17th year in the dugout for the Wonder Boys. In his previous 16 seasons, Dawson has guided amassed a 482-334 record. He has also had nine seasons with 30 or more wins which includes the 2014 season in which he led the team a program-record 44 wins and hosting rights for that year's Central Region Tournament.
 
Overall, Dawson is in his 21st year as a head baseball coach at the collegiate level as he spent four years as head coach at Kansas Wesleyan and totaled 118 wins. His combined win total at Tech and Kansas Wesleyan have him with a career record of 610-434.
 
SCOUTING OUACHITA BAPTIST
Ouachita Baptist enters the midweek game at Tech 10-5 overall. They are coming off a series loss on the road at Harding this past weekend. The Tigers would drop the first two games, but bounced back for an extra-innings win in the finale to avoid the sweep.
 
Offensively, the Tigers are hitting .297 as a team (138-for-465) with 93 runs scored, 17 doubles, two triples and 15 home runs. They are led in hitting by Jaren Ceasar at .411 (23-for-56). Joseph Bolin has been the power threat for the Tigers as he leads the team in slugging percentage at .604 thanks to two doubles and four home runs. Bolin also leads the team in RBIs with 18 while Octavio Mendivil leads the team in runs scored with 14.
 
On the mound, the Tigers have a 4.87 team ERA and have struck out 88 batters in 122.0 innings of work.
 
The Tigers used a weekend rotation of Chase Oberle, Reese Tarini and Braden Tucker in their weekend series at Harding. Those three figure to not see action against Tech on Tuesday.
 
Austin Ford and Jarrett Waggoner have made starts in the previous two midweek games for Ouachita. Waggoner started the most-recent midweek game at home against No. 22-ranked Delta State. Waggoner would pitch 3.0 innings, allow two runs on two hits with four walks and five strikeouts.
 
The Tigers are led by Luke Howard, who is in his eighth season at Ouachita Baptist. In his time at Ouachita, Howard is 180-158.
