LEADING OFF
The Arkansas Tech baseball team remains at home this weekend for a three-game series against East Central.

The series is scheduled to start with a single game on Friday night starting at 6 p.m. and conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.

Historically, the Wonder Boys and Tigers have met 61 times before their clash this weekend. Tech currently leads the series 46-15.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys enters the game 15-13 overall and are 10-5 in the GAC. They have lost two-straight games and are coming off their first series loss of the year as they lost the first and third games on the road at Southeastern Oklahoma last weekend. Most-recently, the Wonder Boys dropped a midweek game at home to Delta State, 6-1.

Statistically, the Wonder Boys are hitting .261 as a team (230-for-882) with 161 runs scored, 39 doubles, six triples and 17 home runs.
Derek Rockett currently leads the team in batting average at .341 (28-for-82).
Kirby Jenkins has been the biggest power threat for the Wonder Boys as he leads the team with a .687 slugging percentage thanks to eight doubles, three triples and seven home runs.
Jenkins also leads the team in RBIs with 34 and runs scored with 24.

On the mound, the Wonder Boys have a team ERA of 5.56 and have struck out 171 batters in 229.2 innings of work.

Cole Dickson,
Creighton Jacobitz and
Daniel Hutchison all made starts over Tech's most-recent weekend against Southeastern Oklahoma and figure to be among the rotation this weekend against East Central.

Jacobitz is 4-3 with a 3.72 ERA and has 30 strikeouts in 36.1 innings.
Hutchison is 3-4 with a 6.30 ERA and has 18 strikeouts in 30.0 innings.
Dickson is 1-2 with an 8.56 ERA and has 21 strikeouts in 27.1 innings.

Leading the Wonder Boys once more is
Dave Dawson. The all-time winningest coach in Tech Baseball history,
Dawson enters his 17th year in the dugout for the Wonder Boys. In his previous 16 seasons,
Dawson has guided amassed a 482-334 record. He has also had nine seasons with 30 or more wins which includes the 2014 season in which he led the team a program-record 44 wins and hosting rights for that year's Central Region Tournament.

Overall,
Dawson is in his 21st year as a head baseball coach at the collegiate level as he spent four years as head coach at Kansas Wesleyan and totaled 118 wins. His combined win total at Tech and Kansas Wesleyan have him with a career record of 615-438.

SCOUTING EAST CENTRAL
East Central enters the series against Tech at 9-16 overall and 6-9 in the GAC. They are coming off a series win at home against Harding last weekend. After dropping the opening game 13-10, ECU would go on to win the next two games, 7-6 in each game. Most-recently, the Tigers are coming off an 11-10 loss at home against Oklahoma Baptist in a non-conference midweek game.

Offensively, the Tigers are hitting .308 as a team (261-for-848) with 164 runs scored, 43 doubles, seven triples and 15 home runs. They are led in hitting by
Joey Allen at .423 (33-for-78).
Allen has been the biggest power threat for the Tigers as he leads the team in slugging percentage at .628 thanks to 11 doubles, a triple and a home run.
Allen also leads the team in RBIs with 22 while
Tyler Akers leads the team in runs scored with 27.

On the mound, the Tigers have an 8.30 team ERA and have struck out 191 batters in 206.0 innings of work.

The Tigers used a weekend rotation of
Joel Hogan,
Ryan Dembroski and
Caleb Peek in their weekend series against Harding. Those three figure to be a part of the weekend rotation against Tech.

Hogan is 1-4 with a 9.26 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 23.1 innings.
Dembroski is 1-1 with a 4.03 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 29.0 innings.
Peek is 0-0 with a 5.59 ERA with 23 strikeouts in 19.1 innings.

Kevin Paxson, who is in his third season as head coach at East Central. In his time at ECU,
Paxson is 32-92.
