Connor Davis and
Devin Foster each had a breakout game on Thursday night for Arkansas Tech as Davis scored a season-high 23 points while Foster added a season-high 20. Tech would lose the road game to (rv) Oklahoma Baptist by a score of 82-75.
For the game, Davis shot 6-of-13 overall from the floor and was 4-of-7 from three-point range and an unblemished 7-of-7 from the free throw line. Foster was 6-of-10 overall from the floor with all his attempts and makes coming from long-range. He would add two made free throws to push his total to 20.
Overall, the Wonder Boys shot 42.6% from the field (23-of-54), 40.7% from three-point range (11-of-27) and 85.7% from the free throw line (18-of-21).
A major turning point in the game came over the final two minutes of the first half as Oklahoma Baptist went on an 8-0 run that turned a two-point lead into a 10-point margin. The Wonder Boys were able to not have that be the halftime spread, however, as Foster hit a three-pointer at the buzzer.
Foster then hit a three to open the second half to bring Tech within four points, but that would be as close as the Wonder Boys would get as Oklahoma Baptist built out a comfortable lead that they were able to maintain the rest of the game.
The Wonder Boys will now prepare for a road game at No. 7-ranked Southern Nazarene on Saturday afternoon. Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 3 p.m. from the Sawyer Center in Bethany.
