RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Following a tie for 14th place at the DBU Classic earlier this week, Arkansas Tech junior golfer Jaylee Castro has been named as the Great American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office on Wednesday.
 
It is the first GAC weekly award this season and the second career for Castro.
 
Castro earned this week's GAC Women's Golfer of the Week after her aforementioned tie for 14th individual finish at the DBU Classic. She would card a two-round score of +1 (145) and shot a one-under (71) in the first round and finished with a two-over (74) in the final round.
 
Castro would tie for the top GAC golfer in the field but had the most birdies of any GAC golfer competing in the tournament with six (three in each round).
