The Arkansas Tech volleyball team will take a brief step away from their non-conference schedule and will open Great American Conference play on Tuesday night on the road at Henderson State.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
After their second weekend of action, the Golden Suns are off to a 3-4 start to their season thanks to going 2-1 this past weekend at the Denton Volleyfest, hosted by Texas Woman's. On the weekend, the Golden Suns only lost to host TWU and came away with sweep victories against Southern New Hampshire and UT Tyler.
 
Offensively, the Golden Suns are averaging 13.4 kills/set and have a .205 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 50 kills and are led by Henley Hooks and her 68 kills. Erika Hernandez has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .364 (58k-121att-14err).
 
The Golden Suns have split time at setter between their three Aspen Jankowski, Emma Kiser and Kenzie Garrett. All three have at least 50 assists with Jankowski currently leading the team with 110.
 
Defensively the Golden Suns are averaging 16.9 digs/set and 2.0 blocks per set. Samantha Wojtowicz leads the team in digs with 107. Carson Thiebaud currently leads the team in blocks with 22.0.
 
The head coach of the Golden Suns is Hannah Wuest. She is in her first year as head coach at Tech and has a 3-4 record.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
HENDERSON STATE
The Reddies are off to a 4-4 start to their season and are coming off a weekend in which they went 3-1 with wins over Auburn-Montgomery, Mississippi College and UT Dallas. That weekend of matches was played at home as part of the Reddie-Tiger Challenge, co-hosted with cross-street frenemy Ouachita Baptist.
 
Coming into play against Tech, the Reddies are averaging 11.0 kills/set and have a .157 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 40 kills and are led in kills by Kaitlyn Steffes with 122. Kelis Battles has the highest attack percentage on the team at .206 (83k-272att-27err).
 
The Reddies have used a primary setter in Tyhia Mack. She currently has 162 of the team's 313 assists on the year. She has had 20 or more assists four times.
