Golden Suns volleyball nets 10th-straight AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the 11th time in the last 12 years, and the 10th-consecutive, the Arkansas Tech volleyball team has earned the AVCA Team Academic Award, as the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Thursday.

The Team Academic Award was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year and honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.

"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team
Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication
of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."

The Golden Suns are set to open their 2026 season under second-year head coach Hannah Wuest at the Washburn Invitational, hosted by Washburn, the weekend of August 28-29. For the full 2026 Golden Suns volleyball schedule go to: https://arkansastechsports.com/sports/womens-volleyball/schedule
