RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Following a tie for second place at The Mule earlier this week, Arkansas Tech junior golfer Jacob Peetoom has been named as the Great American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office on Wednesday.
 
It is the first GAC weekly award this season for Peetoom and the second of his career.
 
Peetoom earned this week's GAC Golfer of the Week after he was the top GAC finisher at The Mule and shot a two-under (208) for the tournament.
 
On Monday, Peetoom came out strong with an even-par opening round and then capped it off with a three-under second round.
 
In his final round, Peetoom shot a one-over (71). He ended up finishing one-stroke behind the individual medalist, Nicolas Canales of Central Oklahoma.
