RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Following a tie for third place at the NSU Men's Golf Classic earlier this week, Arkansas Tech senior golfer
Roby Cooper has been named as the Great American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office on Wednesday.
It is the first GAC weekly award this season and career for Cooper and the second for the Wonder Boys.
Cooper earned this week's GAC Golfer of the Week after he was the top GAC finisher at the NSU Men's Golf Classic. A native of Melbourne, Ark., Cooper shot rounds of one-under (70), five-under (66) and three-under (68) to finish at nine-under (204).
He would total 16 birdies for the tournament and had just six holes at bogey or higher. Cooper's overall stroke total of 204 tied him for the second-lowest 54-hole tournament at Tech.
Cooper's 66 in round two was tied for the fourth-lowest single round score in Wonder Boys' history.
