FIRST PITCH
The Arkansas Tech baseball team will carry its seven-game winning streak on the road this weekend for a Great American Conference series at Ouachita Baptist.

The three-game series is slated to start with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. and conclude with a single game on Sunday starting at 1 p.m.

The Wonder Boys and Tigers have met 177 times historically in a series that dates back to 1912. In terms of the all-time series record, Tech holds a 103-72-1 lead over Ouachita.

The two teams met six times last season with the weekend series being played at Tech and the opening round best-of-three series in the GAC Tournament, also at Tech. The Wonder Boys would win the regular season series 2-1 and did so as well in the tournament.

This will also be the second time that the two teams have played this season as they met for a mid-week non-conference game at Tech back on March 3

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys enter their weekend at Ouachita Baptist with a 15-14 overall record and an 11-6 mark in the GAC. Tech is currently riding a seven-game winning streak. Most-recently, Tech beat Union in their mid-week game and previously swept East Central over this past weekend.

Entering play, the Wonder Boys are hitting .284 as a team (266-for-935) with 224 runs scored, 44 doubles, nine triples and 19 home runs.
Cole Dawson currently leads the team in batting average at .381 (40-for-105) and leads the team in runs scored at 34.
Simon Murray has the highest slugging percentage on the team at .561 thanks to a team-high five home runs.
Murray is one of 10 players on the team with double-digit RBIs and is tied with
Sawyer Duddleston for the team lead in RBIs with 26.

On the mound, the Wonder Boys have a team ERA of 7.43 and have struck out 209 batters in 236.1 innings of work.

Jack Rector,
John Gray and
Daniel Hutchison made starts over the past weekend in the games played against East Central and figure to be a part of this weekend's rotation as well.

Rector is 1-3 with a 7.39 ERA and 47 strikeouts over 35.1 innings.
Hutchison is 3-2 with a 6.16 ERA and 38 strikeouts across 38.0 innings.
Gray is 0-2 with a 10.47 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 16.1 innings.

Eleven relievers have made multiple appearances with
Austin Mittlestedt and
Turner Seelinger having the most with 10.
Mittlestedt is currently 2-1 with a 4.91 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 11.0 innings.
Seelinger is 0-1 with a 10.05 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 14.1 innings.
JT Cafferty is next in relief appearances with nine.

Leading the Wonder Boys once more is
Dave Dawson. The all-time winningest coach in Tech Baseball history,
Dawson enters his 16th year in the dugout for the Wonder Boys. In his previous 15 seasons,
Dawson has guided amassed a 450-311 record. He has also had eight seasons with 30 or more wins which includes the 2014 season in which he led the team a program-record 44 wins and hosting rights for that year's Central Region Tournament.

Overall,
Dawson is in his 20th year as a head baseball coach at the collegiate level as he spent four years as head coach at Kansas Wesleyan and totaled 118 wins. His combined win total at Tech and Kansas Wesleyan have him with a career record of 583-416.

SCOUTING OUACHITA BAPTIST
Ouachita Baptist enters this weekend's series against Tech with a 13-15 overall record and a 10-8 mark in the GAC. The Tigers are coming off a series win at home against Oklahoma Baptist. Ouachita would the first two games by a run before Oklahoma Baptist salvaged a game with a 21-9 win in the finale.

Offensively, the Tigers are hitting .218 as a team (180-for-827) with 135 runs scored, 30 doubles, six triples and 15 home runs.

Isaac Nowell leads the team in batting average at .317 (32-for-101).
Nowell also leads the team in slugging at .535 thanks to four doubles, three triples and four home runs. He also leads the team in runs scored with 22 and is one of six Tigers that have scored double-digit runs. Garrett Graham leads the club in RBIs with 24 and is one of five Tigers with double-digit RBIs.

On the mound, the Tigers have a 5.99 team ERA and have struck out 231 batters in 224.0 innings of work.

This past weekend, the Tigers had a starting rotation of
Chase Oberle,
Luke House and
Kyzer Smith. All three have made at least seven starts.
Oberle is 3-2 with a 3.51 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 51.1 innings.
House is 4-3 with a 5.65 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 43.0 innings.
Smith is 1-2 with a 5.54 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 37.1 innings.

Tag Pacot has been the go-to reliever for the Tigers. He leads the team in appearances with 11 and has both of the team's saves. He is 3-3 with a 4.84 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 22 innings.

Luke Howard, who is in his seventh season as head coach at Ouachita Baptist. In his time at Ouachita,
Howard is 159-143.
