FIRST SERVE
Having played the 11 other Great American Conference teams one time through, the Arkansas Tech volleyball team is now set to make its abbreviated second trip around the league, and will firstly do so at home on Thursday, October 30 against Henderson State.
 
This will be the second match of the 2025 regular season between Tech and Henderson State. The initial meeting came back on September 16 and Tech on the match, 3-0.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enter the match against Henderson State 13-8 overall and 9-2 in the GAC. Tech is coming off a pair of wins at home last weekend as they beat Southeastern Oklahoma, 3-1, and then swept East Central, 3-0. Those two wins have pushed Tech's winning streak to six.
 
At 9-2 in the GAC, the Golden Suns have already secured a spot in the upcoming GAC Volleyball Tournament. It will be their first appearance in the conference tournament since 2022.
 
Offensively, the Golden Suns are averaging 13.6 kills/set and have a .227 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 165 kills and are led by Savannah Meyer and her 228 kills. Erika Hernandez has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .391 (178k-373att-32err).
 
The Golden Suns have split time at setter between their three Aspen Jankowski, Emma Kiser and Kenzie Garrett. All three have at least 240 assists with Kiser currently leading the team with 299.
 
Defensively the Golden Suns are averaging 17.3 digs/set and 1.8 blocks per set. Samantha Wojtowicz leads the team in digs with 340. Seven different Golden Suns have registered double-digit blocks thus far with four having at least 25.0. Erika Hernandez currently leading the team with 52.0.
 
The head coach of the Golden Suns is Hannah Wuest. She is in her first year as head coach at Tech and has a 13-8 record.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
HENDERSON STATE
Henderson State enters the match with Tech 13-12 overall and 5-6 in GAC play. The Reddies are coming off a win in their most-recent match as they beat Southern Nazarene at home in five sets, 3-2, this past Friday.
 
At 5-6 in the GAC, the Reddies are currently tied for sixth place in the league standings.
                                                                                                                              
Coming into play against Tech, the Reddies are averaging 12.2 kills/set and have a .196 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 150 kills and are led in kills by Kaitlyn Steffes with 396. Cassidi Campbell has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .243 (151k-362att-63err).
 
The Reddies have used a primary setter in Tyhia Mack. She currently has 469 of the team's 1,085 assists. Mack has registered 30 or more assists in a match three times this season.
 
Defensively the Reddies are averaging 18.8 digs/set and 2.1 blocks per set. Kaylon Partain leads the team in digs with 547. Seven Reddies have registered double-digit blocks thus far with three having at least 40.0. Cassidi Campbell leads the way with 99.0 blocks.
 
The head coach of the Reddies is Phillip McDaniel. He is in his ninth year at Henderson State and his 16th overall. In his time at Henderson, McDaniel is 149-104. Overall, he is 246-229.
