FIRST SERVE
The Arkansas Tech volleyball team is back on the road this weekend and will play four more matches across two days as they will take part in the Flame Invitational, hosted by Lee University. The weekend of action will be a great early-season test for the Golden Suns as their four opponents own a combined 12-3 record.
 
Friday's matches will see the Golden Suns take on host Lincoln Memorial and Eckerd. The Lincoln Memorial match is scheduled for an 8 a.m. start. Later in the afternoon on Friday, the Golden Suns will play Eckerd. That match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
 
On day two of the invitational, the Golden Suns will take on Georgia College at 8 a.m. and then play host Lee at 1 p.m. later that day.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are off to a 1-3 start to their season after opening last weekend at the Gorilla Classic, hosted by Pittsburg State. At that classic, Tech played Pitt State, Southwest Baptist, Western Colorado and Oklahoma Christian. The Golden Suns were competitive in all four matches and won at least one set in each of the final three matches.
 
Offensively, the Golden Suns are averaging 11.4 kills/set and have a .168 team attack percentage. They have three players with at least 30 kills and are led by Savannah Meyer and her 61 kills. Jordan Clouse has the highest attack percentage on the team at .275 (17k-51att-3err).
 
The Golden Suns have split time at setter between Emma Kiser and Kenzie Garrett. The two have combined for 146 of the team's 171 assists registered thus far. Kiser currently leads the team with 98.
 
Defensively the Golden Suns are averaging 14.1 digs/set and 2.2 blocks per set. Jamie Myrick leads the team in digs with 68. Jordan Clouse currently leads the team in blocks with 18.0.
 
The head coach of the Golden Suns is Kera Coleman. She is in her seventh year as head coach of her alma mater and eighth overall. In her time at Tech, Coleman is 74-89. Overall, she's 93-101.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Lincoln Memorial
The Railsplitters are off to a 3-1 start to their season, but will be entering their match with Tech on the heels off their first loss as they fell to Carson-Newman 3-1 in the opener of their conference slate this past Tuesday.
 
Prior to their loss on Tuesday, Lincoln Memorial opened their season unblemished last weekend at the Chowan Invitational with shutout wins over Elizabeth City, Newberry and Chowan.
 
Offensively, the Railsplitters are averaging 11.7 kills/set and have a .220 team attack percentage. They have five players with at least 20 kills and are led by Kristen Moehring and her 52 kills. Katherine Bedel has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .383 (23k-47att-5err).
 
The Railsplitters' primary setter has been Lauren Pickett. She currently has 121 of the team's 140 assists.
 
Defensively the Railsplitters are averaging 13.9 digs/set and 1.7 blocks per set. Lauren Jacob leads the team in digs with 52. A pair of Railsplitters have registered double-digit blocks thus far with Agata Bogdanska leading the way with 14.0 blocks.
 
The head coach of the Railsplitters is John Cash. He is in his first year as head coach of the women's volleyball team at Lincoln Memorial, but he is no stranger to LMU volleyball as he served as the head men's volleyball coach from 2018-2023. In that time, Cash went 100-43.
 
Eckerd
Eckerd is off to a 2-1 start to their season after opening their season at home as hosts of the Eckerd College Invitational. The Tritons would win their first two matches against Emory & Henry College and Adelphi, but fell to No. 4-ranked Wayne State, 3-1.
 
Through one weekend of play, the Tritons are averaging 13.3 kills/set and have a .230 team attack percentage. They have three players with at least 30 kills and are led by Kinga Michalaska and her 37 kills. Hayden Nash has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .325 (19k-40att-6err).
 
The Tritons primary setter has been Gabi Jedrzejczack. She currently has 114 of the team's 132 assists.
 
Defensively the Tritons are averaging 16.5 digs/set and 1.6 blocks per set. Stella Antypa leads the team in digs with 39. In terms of blocks thus far, Avry Nelson leads the way with 11.0 blocks.
 
The head coach of the Tritons is Michelle Piantadosi-Lima. She is in her 12th year at Eckerd and has amassed a 204-135 record.
 
Georgia College
The Bobcats are off to a 3-1 start to their season after opening their season at home as hosts of the Bobcat Classic. At the classic, the Bobcats would win their first two matches in five sets against Southern Wesleyan and Albany State, but then dropped their first match of the year to Lee in straight-sets. They would bounce back, however, and beat Young Harris 3-1 to close out the weekend.
 
Through one weekend of play, the Bobcats are averaging 11.9 kills/set and have a .181 team attack percentage. They have three players with at least 30 kills and are led by Rosa Fisher and her 49 kills. Nya Warren has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .298 (21k-47att-7err).
 
The Bobcats have split time at setter between Sadie Parkerson and Riese Johnson. Both have combined for 141 assists. Parkerson currently leads the team with 75 assists.
 
Defensively the Bobcats are averaging 14.5 digs/set and 1.8 blocks per set. Alanis Bernis leads the team in digs with 76. In terms of blocks thus far, Nya Warren leads the way with 18.0 blocks.
 
The head coach of the Tritons is Abigail King. She is in her second year at Georgia College and her fourth overall. At Georgia College, King is 17-18. Overall, her career record is 33-58.
 
Lee
Host-institution Lee is off to a 4-0 start to their season after opening their season on the road at the Bobcat Classic. The Flames dropped just one set over that opening weekend as they registered three shutouts.
 
Through one weekend of play, the Flames are averaging 14.5 kills/set and have a .251 team attack percentage. They have three players with at least 30 kills and are led by Sara Paulumbo and her 58 kills. Sophia Lippert has the highest attack percentage on the team among prominent attackers at .478 (53k-90att-10err).
 
The Flames have split time at setter between Berra Soyler and Madison Dahl. Soyler currently leads the team with 95 assists.
 
Defensively the Flames are averaging 15.2 digs/set and 0.9 blocks per set. Izzy Denton leads the team in digs with 54. In terms of blocks thus far, Naomi Hockless leads the way with 6.0 blocks.
 
The head coach of the Flames is Christa Fabre. She is in her second year at her alma mater and has amassed a 21-15 record.
