RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech football team played its final home game of the 2024 season on Saturday afternoon and lost, 23-13, to East Central.
The Wonder Boys will now turn their attention to the final two weeks of the season with both games being on the road. First among those is next Saturday's game at Southeastern Oklahoma. The following week, the Wonder Boys will conclude their season at nationally-ranked Harding.
In the game against ECU, the Wonder Boys trailed the Tigers 10-0 through the first half, but got on the board early in the third quarter on a two-yard touchdown plunge by
Jordan Edington. It was the first of his two rushing scores in the game as he later punched one in from a yard out late in the fourth quarter.
The two rushing TDs for Edington marked the second time this season and fourth time in his career that he has scored twice in a game. Edington now also has 23 rushing touchdowns in his time as a Wonder Boy.
Unfortunately, between Edington's rushing scores, ECU scored 13 points with a pair of field goals and a touchdown, to give them enough of a cushion to hold off Tech and win 23-13.
With it being the final game at home this season, the Wonder Boys honored the 18 seniors on their team prior to kick-off. Listed among those seniors that were honored were:
Matt Arnold,
