SEARCY, Ark. – The 2024 season came to an end for the Arkansas Tech football team on Saturday afternoon as they lost on the road at consensus top-five ranked and defending National Champion, Harding, 57-27.
The 27 points scored by the Wonder Boys are the most points scored by an opponent of Harding this season and are the most since the Bisons allowed 34 points to Central Missouri last season in the second round of the DII Playoffs.
Fueling the offensive output for the Wonder Boys was senior signal-caller
Ethan Everson. The Dallas, Texas native accounted for all four of Tech's touchdowns in the game as he notched three passing TDs and had a rushing score as well.
Everson's first score was a 13-yard rush at the end of the first half. He then came back with a 20-yard touchdown pass to
Keshaun Lazard late in the third quarter and in the fourth quarter, had two passing TDs. Both of those fourth-quarter scores went to tight end
Dayton Keller with the first being a three-yard connection with 8:57 left and the last being a 35-yard hookup as time expired on the game clock.
Overall, Everson passed for 261 yards on 17 completions.
Jordan Jackson was the top receiver with 102 yards on six catches.
Joyrion Chase was next with 86 yards on seven receptions.
The Wonder Boys will now head into the offseason and begin preparations for the upcoming 2025 season.
