EDMOND, Okla. – The Arkansas Tech women's golf team improved 10 strokes in round two on Tuesday to push themselves into a fourth-place finish among the 24-team field at the Grace Shin Regional Preview. Their team score of 22-over (582) is the best in program history at the Grace Shin, beating their previous record of 603. Two Golden Suns would tie for 5th place individually.

Sophomore
Jaylee Castro was one of the Golden Suns to finish 5th. Over the two-day tournament, she would card four birdies and one eagle on her way to shooting an even par (140). That one eagle would be the one of two eagles recorded by any golfer throughout the week. It also happened to be recorded on the longest hole yardage wise.
Junior
Averi Mickelson was the other Golden Sun to place 5th. Nine birdies throughout the event were recorded onto her card en route to her shooting an even par (140). That marked be a new personal best for Mickelson.
Junior
Ellen Spigner would also shoot her season best, carding a three-over (143) with six birdies.
Graduate
Mekky Winyarat would round out the scoring for the Golden Suns with a 19-over.
The Golden Suns will head to Hot Springs, Arkansas to compete in the Battle for the Belt at the Hot Springs Country Club on Oct. 13 – Oct. 14.
