SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Arkansas Tech volleyball team fell in three sets on the road at Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday night.
In the match, the Golden Suns faced a pretty potent Oklahoma Baptist offensive attack as the Bison registered at least 14 kills in each set and collectively hit .264 as a team for the match. The Golden Suns notched double-digit kills in each set, but were hindered by attack errors as they were limited to a .142 attack percentage for the match.
The Golden Suns also found themselves on the smaller end of service aces and blocks compared to the output of the Bison.
Individually,
Kaitlyn Neal had one of her best offensive matches of the season as she tied a single-match high with 14 kills. Neal also committed just one attack error on 29 total attempts to post a .448 percentage, her second-highest of the season.
Behind Neal in kills were
Savannah Meyer and
Henley Hooks. Meyer had nine kills in the match to push her over the 300-kill mark for the season. She is the first Golden Sun to surpass 300 kills in a season since Tymber Riley in 2021. Hooks added eight kills and is closing in on 250 for the season.
The Golden Suns will now prepare for a quick turnaround as their next match will be in less than 24 hours at Southern Nazarene. First-serve on Friday afternoon is scheduled for 4 p.m.
