FIRST PITCH
With three weekends left in the regular season, the Arkansas Tech baseball team is looking to hit the reset button and return to their winning ways this weekend as they hit the road to play at East Central. The series with ECU will be Tech's final conference series away from home this season.

The weekend series is slated to start with single game on Friday evening starting at 2 p.m. and conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 2 p.m. Live coverage for the game can be found at:

According to the best available historical records, the Wonder Boys and Tigers have met 52 times in a series that started in 2000. In terms of the all-time series record, Tech holds a 37-15 lead over ECU.

The two teams previously played one another three times last year in their normal weekend conference series. The Wonder Boys would win all three games of that series, taking game one 6-0, game two, 7-3 and the third and final game, 10-2.

The Wonder Boys enter their weekend series on the road against East Central with an overall record of 23-16 and a 16-8 mark in the GAC. Tech is looking get back to its winning ways after being swept in their series last weekend against nationally-ranked Southern Arkansas.

Overall, the Wonder Boys enter their weekend series with the Muleriders hitting .308 as a team (405-for-1,314) with 317 runs scored, 76 doubles, 12 triples and 31 home runs.
Nick Jones currently leads the team in batting average at .383 (44-for-115) and is one of five players that have scored at least 30 runs this season.
Sawyer Duddleston is currently pacing the team in runs scored with 43.

Keaton Ranallo has been providing the best power production thus far and is leading the team in home runs with nine. Ranallo also has 11 doubles and two triples to post a .627 slugging percentage, which is second only to Duddletson's .630 slugging mark. Eight other Wonder Boys have hit home runs this season with Duddleston,
Markos Cabranes,
Sam Stephenson,
Logan Schwenke and
Nick Jones all having multiple homers.

On the RBI front, the Wonder Boys have a total of six players with 20 or more RBIs and four that have surpassed 30. Duddleston is leading the team in RBIs with 41 while Ranallo is second with 38.

On the mound, the Wonder Boys have a team ERA of 6.68 and have struck out 275 batters in 311.1 innings of work.

This past weekend, Tech employed a starting rotation of
John Gray,
Grant Shahan and
Emilano Mata against Southern Arkansas. Gray and Mata have both started 10 games while Shahan was making his first start. Â

In terms of the bullpen for the Wonder Boys,
Will Horton has made the most relief appearances thus far with 19.
Mason Griffin has six of the team's eight saves for the Wonder Boys. He has appeared in 12 games and has a 3.57 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 17.2 innings of work.

Leading the Wonder Boys once more is
Dave Dawson. The all-time winningest coach in Tech Baseball history, Dawson enters his 14th year in the dugout for the Wonder Boys. In his previous 13 seasons, Dawson has guided amassed a 380-269 record. He has also had six seasons with 30 or more wins which includes the 2014 season in which he led the team a program-record 44 wins and hosting rights for that year's Central Region Tournament.

Overall, Dawson is in his 18th year as a head baseball coach at the collegiate level as he spent four years as head coach at Kansas Wesleyan and totaled 118 wins. Dawson's combined win total at Tech and Kansas Wesleyan stand at 525. He earned the milestone 500
th win in the series opener vs. No. 13-ranked Central Missouri back in February.

SCOUTING EAST CENTRAL
The Tigers enter the weekend series against Tech with an 8-31 overall record and a 3-21 mark in the GAC. ECU has lost three-straight games and are coming off a 2-1 series loss this past weekend against Northwestern Oklahoma.

Statistically, the Tigers enter the weekend series with Tech hitting .231 as a team (258-for-1,117) with 182 runs scored, 45 doubles, eight triples and 11 home runs. The leading hitter in terms of average so far is
Christian Whitaker at .348 (36-for-104). Whitaker also leads the team in runs scored (30) and slugging percentage (.577). He is second in doubles (11) and home runs (3) and tied for third in RBIs with 18.

ECU has five players who have hit a home run this season with three leaving yard on multiple occasions. The leading home run hitter is
Dawerlyn Amancio with four. As far as RBIs go, the Tigers have two players with at least 20.
Duncan Key leads the team with 26.

On the mound, the Tigers have a 10.73 team ERA and have struck out 252 batters in 299.1 innings of work.

This past weekend, the Tigers employed a starting rotation of
Ian Mason,
Bryan Terry, and
Carson Thomas against Northwestern Oklahoma. Terry has made the most starts of those three with 12. Thomas is not far behind with nine starts while Mason has made just two starts.

Outside of that rotation, the Tigers have used 17 other pitchers in relief roles. Two of those pitchers have made double-digit relief appearances.
Bryce Crawford and
Kaleb Dent have both made 16 appearances overall. Out of those, 15 have been in relief for Crawford while 14 have been in relief for Dent. As a team, ECU has registered five saves and three of those have come from Thomas.

East Central is led by
Sunny Golloway, who is in his first season with as head coach of the Tigers. A long-time veteran Division I head coach, Golloway came to ECU with over 700 wins to his name. Over 600 of those wins came at two different stops as Golloway won 335 games in eight seasons at Oral Roberts (1996-2003) and 346 games at Oklahoma (2005-2013). He also spent two seasons as head coach at Auburn (2014-15) where he won 64 games.
