FIRST PITCH
The Arkansas Tech baseball team has another big weekend test ahead of them this weekend as they host No. 20-ranked Henderson State out at Baswell Field. This weekend will be the fifth ranked opponent that Tech has faced already this year as the Reddies popped into the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Top-25 after receiving votes the previous week.

The series is slated to be played with a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon followed by a single game on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. Live coverage for all games in the series can be found at:

According to the best available historical records, the Wonder Boys and Reddies have met 175 times in a series that started in 1914. In terms of the all-time series record, Tech holds a 102-73 lead over Henderson State.

The two teams met four times last regular season with the three-game conference series as well as a mid-week game. The season series was split 2-2 as Tech won the mid-week game, but dropped the weekend series, 2-1.

TALKING TECH
The Wonder Boys enters this weekend series at home against No. 20-ranked Henderson State with an overall record of 11-5 and are 5-1 in GAC play. Tech is currently on a two-game winning streak after winning the series finale at Southern Nazarene last weekend and claiming their mid-week game against Union 12-2 in seven innings. Going back through their last 10 games, the Wonder Boys are 9-1 and are averaging 11.1 runs per game.

Overall, the Wonder Boys enter the weekend against the Reddies hitting .312 as a team (168-for-538) with 136 runs scored, 34 doubles, five triples and 18 home runs.
Brandon Bunton currently leads the team in batting average at .419 (18-for-43) and is one of eight players that have scored at least 10 runs this season.
Keaton Ranallo has been providing the best power production thus far and is leading the team in slugging percentage at .690 and home runs with five. He is also tied for the team-lead in RBIs with
Sawyer Duddleston with 18. Â

Eight other Wonder Boys have hit home runs this season with Duddleston,
Sam Stephenson and
Logan Schwenke all having multiple homers. On the RBI front, the Wonder Boys have a total of five players with 10 or more RBIs three more with nine.

On the mound, the Wonder Boys have a team ERA of 5.98 and have struck out 115 batters in 126.1 innings of work.

This past weekend, Tech employed a starting rotation of
John Gray,
Emilano Mata and
Gerald Pintarich against Southern Nazarene. Gray and Mata have both appeared and started four games while Pintarich has made five appearances and two starts.

In terms of the bullpen for the Wonder Boys,
Will Horton and
Kade Cartwright have made the most relief appearances thus far with seven apiece.
Marshall Brown has logged the most innings in relief with 16.2 to his credit.
Mason Griffin has three of the team's four saves for the Wonder Boys. Pintarich has the other.

Leading the Wonder Boys once more is
Dave Dawson. The all-time winningest coach in Tech Baseball history, Dawson enters his 14th year in the dugout for the Wonder Boys. In his previous 13 seasons, Dawson has guided amassed a 380-269 record. He has also had six seasons with 30 or more wins which includes the 2014 season in which he led the team a program-record 44 wins and hosting rights for that year's Central Region Tournament.

Overall, Dawson is in his 18th year as a head baseball coach at the collegiate level as he spent four years as head coach at Kansas Wesleyan and totaled 118 wins. Dawson's combined win total at Tech and Kansas Wesleyan stand at 509. He earned the milestone 500
th win in the series opener vs. No. 13-ranked Central Missouri back in February.

SCOUTING HENDERSON STATE
The No. 20-ranked Reddies enters the weekend series against Tech with an 11-4 overall record and a 5-1 mark in the GAC. The Reddies have won three-straight and are coming off a thrilling extra-innings walk-off win against former conference rival Delta State this past Tuesday. In the weekend prior, Henderson bounced back from an opening game loss to Northwestern Oklahoma and went on to win the next two games to win the series, 2-1.

Statistically, the Reddies enter the series against Tech hitting .294 as a team (146-for-497) with 112 runs scored, 31 doubles, nine triples and 17 home runs. The leading hitter in terms of average so far is
Luke Rice at .444 (16-for-36). Rice is also currently tied for second on the team in home runs with
Luke Farrar at three. Leading the Reddies in homers in
Greyson Stevenson with four.

Fararr and
Kaden Argenbright are tied for the team lead in RBIs with 14 each. Two other Reddies have registered double-digit RBI totals. Farrar is also tied for the team lead in runs scored with Stevens at 17. The Reddies have three other players with double digits runs scored totals as well.

On the mound, the Reddies have a 4.23 team ERA and have struck out 122 batters in 125.2 innings of work.

Ryan Galvan,
Andrew Howard and
Reese Weeks have been the primary starting pitchers for the Reddies thus far with all three making four appearances and four starts. Last weekend against Northwestern Oklahoma, the Reddies went a rotation that saw Galvan get the ball game one, Howard game two and Weeks game three.

Outside of those starting arms, the Reddies have used 13 other pitchers in relief roles. Four of those are currently tied for the team lead in appearances with five. The Reddies also have had four relievers with multiple outings yet to register an earned run with only two runs total being scored against them at all.
Henderson State is led by
Cody Hooten, who is in his 13th season with as head coach the Reddies. In his time at the helm of Henderson, Hooten has won 321 games and led the Reddies to three Central Region Tournaments, a GAC Tournament championship and an appearance in the Division II World Series.
